Assess the room before choosing a unit

Room dimensions, occupancy, glazing, sun exposure and heat-producing equipment all affect cooling demand. The intended operating hours and ventilation arrangements also matter. An assessment helps establish an appropriate system rather than choosing equipment solely by price or a room’s floor area.

Coordinate the building and electrical works

Installation planning includes equipment positions, pipe and cable routes, condensate drainage, electrical supply and access for future servicing. For fit-outs, these decisions need coordination with ceilings, finishes and other building services. Existing supply capacity should be assessed where additional cooling equipment is proposed.

Can servicing reduce electricity use?
