Define the supply requirement
Share the intended building use, equipment schedule, expected demand and future development plans. An existing connection, a new development and a facility upgrade each require a different starting point. The relevant utility or network owner determines its connection requirements and authorises work on its network.
Coordinate the distribution works
The proposed scope may include transformer installation, associated electrical works, low-voltage lines and connections within the agreed project boundary. Installation planning considers equipment access, routes, clearances, supporting works and coordination with other contractors. Utility approvals and energisation responsibilities should be recorded separately from the contractor’s installation scope.
Commissioning and practical handover
Testing, inspection and commissioning requirements depend on the equipment and project. Agree the documentation, responsible parties and handover arrangements before work starts. Facility teams also need clarity about access restrictions, operating responsibilities and how faults or future maintenance will be handled.

Can you tell me the transformer size from the building size?
Floor area alone is insufficient. Equipment demand, diversity, starting loads and expansion plans need assessment alongside the supply arrangements.
Does installation include approval of a utility connection?
The quotation should identify exactly what is included. Utility approval, metering, network access and energisation remain subject to the relevant network owner’s processes and permissions.
Do you support projects outside Mbarara?
Yes. Share your district, site conditions and proposed scope so travel, access and project coordination can be discussed.
